03.05 Media and Politics

Created by Jim Morin of the Miami Herald in response to the shooting at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
"Today's Editorial Cartoon:NRA"
This political cartoon was created by Jim Morin of the Miami Herald in response to the shooting at the movie theather in Aurora, Colorado in July of 2012. This cartoon was made as a reaction to the government's nature when it comes to the NRA. It protraits the mockery through the government under the influene of the NRA when it comes to shootings. The political cartoon is bias because it was probably created by someone who does not think the government should be under the influence of the NRA and that guns should be more controlled than the NRA allowing them to be. The NRA puting a gun to the governments head is speaking how tragic the tragic Aurora shooting was. The government also talked about how they will not be doing anything about it, because the NRA is in favor of the "right to bear arms,"means if  a shooting occurs. In my opinion I think the media has changed as our technology and our access to technology changed. The progress of the internet help us access it and creates a widespread of media that can move our viewponts on different topics. This affects our political communtication becasue the mulitudes of news on politics is at each and everyone of our fingertips, and makes it for hard on politicans to keep their microscope because people are constantly watching.
